Caption: These beautifully handmade robes have a rich history in their patterns and seams. Fun fact, it was the Dutch whose merchants were the only ones allowed to trade with Japan during the Edo period and who brought the first kimonos to Europe. A reminder if you pick any up at the store, these should be honoured when worn, i.e. not as a Halloween costume. Appreciate the culture, don’t appropriate it.
